Course Description
This qualification reflects the role of individuals who apply project management skills and knowledge in a wide variety of contexts. The job roles that relate to this qualification may include Contracts Officer, Project Administrator and Quality Officer.

Individuals in these roles work autonomously, and might be members of a project team, with no direct responsibility for overall project outcomes. Primarily, these roles would support wider project operations. They may use project tools and methodologies selectively to support organisational or business activities
Entry Requirements

Students must be above 18 years of age while filling up the application form.

To determine each student’s support needs and assess the suitability of the chosen training product, undertaking a LLND skills assessment is a mandatory requirement prior to enrolment. Students are required to attain an Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF) performance level of 3.

HIC will assess learner’s needs by conducting Pre-Training Review (PTR). PTR will be conducted prior to the enrolment to review student's current competencies, student needs, English level, and support requirements including their oral communication skills, in order to enrol them in the most appropriate course to achieve their intended outcomes.

English Language Requirements for International students

International students applying for this course either off-shore or on-shore will require:

Either a minimum IELTS (General) test score of 6.0 in each component or equivalent for direct entry into a VET course; or

IELTS score of 5.5 or equivalent with an ELICOS course (up to 10 weeks) to be taken before the main VET course; or

IELTS score of 5.0 or equivalent with an ELICOS course (up to 20 weeks) to be taken before the main VET course; or,
-
Oxford Placement test with score 61 or higher.

Score Guide: Average test score of 61 or higher in Oxford placement test is equivalent to IELTS 6.0.

To provide evidence that applicant has successfully completed a minimum of 5 years of study in English undertaken in one or more of the following countries; (i) Australia; (ii) Canada; (iii) New Zealand; (iv) South Africa; (v) the Republic of Ireland; (vi) the United Kingdom; (vii) the United States of America; or

To provide evidence that they are citizen of and hold a valid passport by one of the following countries - Canada, New Zealand, The Republic of Ireland, The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, The United States of America; or

To provide evidence that, within two years of their signed written agreement date**, they have successfully completed the requirements for a Senior Secondary Certificate of Education, in a course that was conducted in Australia and in English, or a substantial component of a course leading to a qualification from the Australian Qualifications Framework at the Certificate IV level or higher that was conducted in Australia and in English.

Academic Requirements

To enter into this course delivered at HIC, applicants should have successfully completed year 12 or secondary studies in the applicant's home country equivalent to Australian senior secondary school examination.

Mature Age students will also be considered without the minimum education requirements considering they have relevant work experience within the chosen area of study and a demonstrated capacity to meet the course requirements. A minimum of 2 years’ experience would normally be expected; however, each case will be reviewed individually with relevant work experience evidence in the form of an employment reference letter on company letterhead, work samples and curriculum vitae submitted will be considered. Such learners will be accessed for possible RPL opportunities, and their course duration and volume of learning will be adjusted accordingly, if any RPL is granted.

Training and Assessment:
The volume of learning for the qualification is 720 hours. This comprises of:

This will be delivered over 48 weeks of course duration including 42 weeks delivery plus 6 weeks holidays. Students are required to attend a minimum 20 scheduled course contact hours per week.
Assessment Methods:
All assessments of units of competency will be conducted according to the assessment guidelines and competency standards of the official Training Package for this qualification. Assessment methods include Knowledge Tests and Projects (e.g., Roleplay/Scenarios/Report/Presentations).

Successful completion may enable the student to undertake BSB50820 - Diploma of Project Management.
